Worst Time and Place for Business Meeting
I still remember so vividly the time when Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) had an outbreak in several countries. I remember it started in China and in just a matter of days, it spread all over the world. Everybody was worried and terribly scared to go out even from their houses, for fear that they might just catch the virus. Just about the same time, I was asked by my boss to go with him to China for a business meeting. Knowing that SARS was everywhere in China, I was very hesitant to comply. But since my boss would not take no for an answer, I had to go. But not before asking him, “do i need immunizations to go to china?” He smiled and told me, “If it gives you peace of mind, then go ahead.” Well, guess what, I did! I wasn’t a hundred percent relaxed, but it helped me sleep at night.
