My wife and I are doing our own garden for the first time this year. We want to do it as naturally as possible so we are also adding a compost pile and using rainwater to water it. No chemicals for us. Our biggest concern at this point is having enough rainwater to use without having to supplement from our water supply. Code regulations demand that chemicals be added to the water supply in order to ensure it is healthy enough to drink. We don’t want these chemicals contaminating our food. This weekend we are going to get supplies to make a compost pile and we are also picking up some rainwater tanks. If we are going to spend so much time making a garden, we are going to do it right.
