Living by a River
Flooding is a huge problem in my hometown. We are situated on the banks of a pretty big river. The majority of the time, it is just a beautiful place to call home. But during the rainy season, we all live in fear of major flooding. A local contractor has been working on a flood prevention for our town. He installs a flowmeter with a timer in our homes, and it will automatically shut off when a certain amount of water appears. It doesn’t prevent all flooding, but this installation has really helped us all to avoid much of the regular flooding.
